Kristen. You are right. I am going to write an article a bit later exploring what happened and see if there were any lessons for us to learn from compactsurf's demise.

Reading your post was sad.
Members lured in to a weekend of upgrades and then an email sent out dated 16th but received on the 18th/19th depending on time zones.
Getaway weekend?

Compactsurfing sure didn’t last long, I figure huge amounts were gathered on Compactpay and last upgrades. So the owner retired.

There is no autosurf out there that I would rate an "A" at the moment. Otherwise I would have been in it, and it would have been listed on my blog by now. Still looking though.

Kristoff,

What you are saying makes a lot of sense I echo your view. This is why I have not written off Compactsurf just downgrade them a notch. I still think they are one of the best. However, the admin Luuk needs to work a bit more on his communication skills.

Like any reasonable person, my involvement with any HYP is tempered with a healthy dose of caution and skeptism. With CompactSurfing, I still remain cautiously optimistic. My last payout took four days and I immediately upgraded again. Keep in mind that less than two weeks ago, Compact Network introduced CompactPay, and has received a very good response and is now up to approx. 2,200 sign-ups. This has required that they allocate some manpower and may be contributing to a slightly longer payout time on CompactSurfing.

Though I agree longer payout times can often be a warning signal, I still believe that Compact Network has a business model that offers one of the best potentials for long-term success. We’ll just have to wait and see.
