Compactsurfing losing its lustre
Posted by rabbit on June 12th, 2006
It seems that compactsurfing is losing its lustre. After months of spoiling its members with 48 hour payments, it is now taking longer to payout. There are people out there that are now waiting 5 days or more for a payment. Still, it is in there Terms of Service that payouts could take up to 7 days, so technically they are not late. However, it is generally not a good sign when payouts start to take a longer time with Paid to Surf programs. So far the admin has not presented a plausible reason for no longer doing 48 hours payments.
On a personal note, I got paid a mid four-figure amount after waiting only about 72 hours on Friday. I also upgraded again on Saturday using most of the paid out amount. With the longer payout times, the risk / reward ratio with the program will be greatly diminished. As such, I may be less aggressive going forward.
I still think that Compactsurfing is the best paid to surf program out there, but it may be wise to exercise some caution given what is happening at the moment. I have downgraded their rating from an "A" to a "B".

Thanks Rabbit for your honest advise!
But I’ve a question:
What autosurf site you’d rate A?
Is WS stil a candidate?

Like any reasonable person, my involvement with any HYP is tempered with a healthy dose of caution and skeptism. With CompactSurfing, I still remain cautiously optimistic. My last payout took four days and I immediately upgraded again. Keep in mind that less than two weeks ago, Compact Network introduced CompactPay, and has received a very good response and is now up to approx. 2,200 sign-ups. This has required that they allocate some manpower and may be contributing to a slightly longer payout time on CompactSurfing.
Though I agree longer payout times can often be a warning signal, I still believe that Compact Network has a business model that offers one of the best potentials for long-term success. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Kristoff,
What you are saying makes a lot of sense I echo your view. This is why I have not written off Compactsurf just downgrade them a notch. I still think they are one of the best. However, the admin Luuk needs to work a bit more on his communication skills.

There is no autosurf out there that I would rate an “A” at the moment. Otherwise I would have been in it, and it would have been listed on my blog by now. Still looking though.

Reading your post was sad.
Members lured in to a weekend of upgrades and then an email sent out dated 16th but received on the 18th/19th depending on time zones.
Getaway weekend?
Compactsurfing sure didn’t last long, I figure huge amounts were gathered on Compactpay and last upgrades. So the owner retired.

Kristen. You are right. I am going to write an article a bit later exploring what happened and see if there were any lessons for us to learn from compactsurf’s demise.
