The latest on the Stormpay vs Autosurfs saga
Posted by rabbit on February 12th, 2006
First of all I must apologize for taking so long to update you guys on the ongoing saga between 12DailyPro and Stormpay. Since the news item was posted 10 days ago, the situation has gotten worse. Alien Trust along with other autosurfs and HYIPs that accepted Stormpay also had their accounts frozen. While some of these programs have closed down altogether, others are making adjustments.
Alien Trust
Alien Trust is one of the programs that are making adjustments. However, their plan makes no sense in my opinion. Essentially they plan to accept E-gold, Alertpay and Uniclear, but pay via QChex. They claim the reasoning behind this is because they want to withdraw the funds to their bank on a daily basis where they believe it is safer.
While having your money in the bank is safer than having it in a payment processor, forcing people to accept QChex as payment every two weeks even though they pay by e-Gold, alertpay and uniclear is a bad solution. I do not like the idea for the following reasons:
1. QChex is very inconvenient for international members. It would take weeks to get a cheque by mail and another couple of weeks to get it cleared. Some international banks will not accept QChex cheques.
2. One would have to get cash the cheque, then use the funds to get e-gold, alertpay or uniclear in order to upgrade again. This is a lot of hoops to jump in order to participate in the program.
3. If payments are going to be made every 2 weeks then there is no reason why the funds cannot be taken from the bank and put back into e-gold, uniclear etc every 2 weeks in order to make payments.
Even though the vast majority of members are requesting EMO as an option, they have refused to consider this. Are they refusing to use EMO because they would not be able to past EMO’s verification process? It certainly makes me suspicious.
With all the above in mind, I have decided to remove Alien Trust from my programs list and put it on hold. Hopefully, the admin will smarten up and come up with a better withdrawal solution for everyone. You can read about their plans in detail here and the update on their legal efforts with Stormpay here.
12DailyPro
12DailyPro is still slugging along with Stormpay. They have hired a lawyer to assist them in getting their funds unfrozen. Earlier in the week it appeared that they were making some progress in this update. However, things turned cold later in the week after Stormpay ceased communication with 12DailyPro’s lawyer. Now 12DailyPro is considering taking legal action according to this latest update. To complicate matters, a number of states, the FBI and possibly the SEC are now investigating 12DailyPro and Stormpay. It is unclear at this point how their involvement will affect the situation or affect 12dailyPro’s business. The convention scheduled for February 24th is still going ahead. However, based on the the advice of their lawyer, they have decided to delay the launch of their newest site HitsDailyPro. You can keep up on what is going on with this saga here and here. I am also adding 12DailyPro to my “Hold” list.
